Common questions
How do I add a book?
Tap the scan button to read an ISBN barcode with your camera, or use search to find a title by name, author, or ISBN. If the camera prompt doesn't appear, enable camera access for BooksLove in Settings › BooksLove › Camera.
How do I import my Goodreads library?
Export your Goodreads library as a CSV, then in BooksLove open Settings › Import and choose the file. Shelves, ratings, and dates come across. You can re-import later to merge updates without creating duplicates.
Does my library sync between devices?
Yes. Your library lives on your device and syncs across your iPhone and iPad through your own private iCloud. Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple Account and that iCloud is enabled for BooksLove.
How do I export my data?
Open Settings › Export to save your entire library as a Goodreads-compatible CSV or as JSON. It's your data — you can take it with you any time.
Subscription & billing
BooksLove is free to start; an optional subscription unlocks premium extras. Subscriptions are managed by Apple. To view, change, or cancel yours, open Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions on your device, or visit apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
Do you show ads or sell my data?
No, and we do not plan to. BooksLove has no advertising, no advertising SDK, no IDFA and no App Tracking Transparency prompt — the app cannot follow you across other apps. Nothing about your reading is sold, rented or shared. The full list of every outside service the app talks to lives in Settings → Privacy → Privacy & your data.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up and no password. Your library lives on your device and, if you enable iCloud, in your own private iCloud account. There is no BooksLove server holding your books.
Can I hide a book from shared cards?
Yes. Open the book, scroll to Privacy and switch on Hidden from shared cards. That book will never appear on a card the app builds, and its sharing button is switched off. It still counts in your statistics and goals, and it is still included in exports.
